We are saddened by the passing of Claire. We didn't see much of each other as children but reconnected at a family Réunion in about 1973. Claire and Doug visited us in Heywood during their travel years. Over the last several years Pam and Claire have had many discussions about our Lawther family and connections. She was the holder of both funny & sad stories of our grandparents in Benalla. I will miss our conversations. Our sincere sympathy is with Doug, Steven, Adrian, Steven, Suzanne and their families.

Claire, you will be sadly missed by all. You always had a very loving and supportive demeanour, continually checking up on me when l lost my Mum ( Aunty Joyce ) Chatting about old times and most of all Doug and the kids and what everyone was up to. Her love and pride for her family was second to none. My heartfelt condolences go out to Doug and all the family. I will surely miss the presence of a truly lovable and kind person

My first memory of Claire was seeing a photo of my parent's wedding where Claire was the flower girl. I couldn't understand why Claire was in the photo with mum and dad and not me. I loved that photo. Other early memories of Claire involved KFC and visiting Geelong. When mum and dad shifted to Portarlington, we saw a lot more of Claire and Doug. She was so proud of her family, always keeping us up to date with what was happening with her growing family. Later she was such a comfort and support when our parents passed away. She was always there with loving thoughts and kind words. We will miss our lovely cousin. Our sincere sympathy to Doug, Steven, Adrian, Steven, Suzanne and their families. Our thoughts are with you all.

I will treasure the memories that I have of Claire, my beautiful and caring niece. I first met Claire as a five-year-old when I was dating her uncle Vic. We formed a strong bond which continued over the years. Claire would message me every morning to see how I was and she has been very supportive over the last few months while I have been dealing with the loss of her much loved uncle Vic and cousin Diane. Together with my Family, Victor, Janette and Philip we send our condolences and deepest sympathy to Doug, Steven and Adrian and their families Steven, Suzanne and their families and Kathryn. Claire will be sadly missed.

Condolences to Doug, Steven, Adrian and sister Kathryn on the passing of Claire. Our thoughts are with you and your extended families at this sad time. Claire was the much loved and treasured sister of Geoff (dec) and Kathryn; sister in law of Robyn and “The Aunt” to Belinda, Kate and their families. We have many fond memories of our visits with Claire and Doug in both Benalla and Geelong. We are deeply saddened by the knowledge that another link in the family chain has been broken. I will miss our phone calls and long chats, especially reminiscing about the old times and also keeping the family updates current. Claire’s life was not always easy but she lived her life well and was dearly loved. May you rest in peace Claire. Love Robyn, Belinda and Kate

I met Claire through Mercy Health and assisted her with shopping and doctor appointments for many years before my retirement in 2020. We kept in touch by phone and text every week but I didn't get to see her often because of covid lock downs. She was a kind, loving lady and a wonderful friend. Hugs to Doug and all her family. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. xx

With so many fond memories of nanny, I will miss her dearly. She was the most beautiful woman with the warmest smile, always so proud of everyone and their achievements no matter what they were. One of my earliest memories of nanny would be a childhood birthday where I was introduced to the famous hot chip sandwich and mud cake, this magnificent combination would be enjoyed many birthdays to follow. My heart aches, it’s hard to imagine lift without her and I send out my deepest sympathies to all that knew and love her. Until we meet again nanny, “I love you girl”

To my wonderful friend Claire. Thank you for being so good to me these past five months since I lost Jim. You called and comforted me quite a lot. It was so thoughtful and I really appreciated it. I have fond memories of us, at 17, as nursing buddies. We were even pregnant at the same time with our children, and we went to each others weddings. I'll always have a place for you in my heart. You'll be sadly missed. Love and hugs Heather Parkhill (nee McLeod).
