Alan it was a pleasure to be able to share your 70th Anniversary with you & June last week. June was a very lovely, gentle person who always cared about others even when she was not well herself. She will be greatly missed.

Dear Allan and Family, we hold you in our herts and prayers today as you celebrate the life of June ... wife, mother, grandmother, great grand mother and dear friend. Allan and June have been a part of Campfire in the Heart for over 15 years ,coming for a month each year, sharing in our ministry of prayer, work and hospitality. As we walk around the property, we can see where they have left their footprint. Even this morning as I (Sue) watered the garden I was conscious of June's presence through her love of plants. She generously shared her wisdom and knowledge of growing and nurturing plants and encouraged me to do the same. We give thanks for her life and her faithful living of the Gospel. Her spirit will continue to live in our hearts and prayers.

I am also writing from Campfire in the Heart where met and got to know June and Allan. June said to me at the end of a retreat 'life wasn't meant to be easy, but take heart my child, it can be delightful' and I never forgot it. I have so greatly appreciated both June and Allan's example of faith, faithfulness, hard work, curiosity and courage to venture out into different ways of thinking, acceptance of those on the edge of Christianity, kindness and wisdom. I will be watching today from here and am mourning the loss of June and praying especially for Allan, but with such gratitude I knew June. Very much love to you Allan.
