Unfortunately I won’t be able to attend Eric’s funeral on Thursday June 8. Eric was a true believer, a gentleman and a faithful friend. Rest in peace Eric and on that day…rise in glory!

Eric was such a lovely gentleman! I got to know him through church whilst at Geelong. A gentle soul who loved to serve and was very humble. RIP 🕊

Colette and I were saddened to hear of Eric’s passing. Always such a supporter of our two daughters achievements and our family, even though we reside in Atlanta, GA. Eric was my mother’s (Janet A. Dixon) first cousin and although I never had the pleasure of meeting him personally, we FB and emailed frequently. RIP Eric you will be missed. Jeremy & Colette Leal.

*Our tribute to Eric Dixon * We first met Eric Dixon in Geelong in 2018 when he joined our recently formed group, Friends of Faith and Light Geelong. This group forms Christian community with those with disabilities (especially intellectual disability) and their family and friends. We embrace having members from different church communities sharing their faith. Eric was a faithful member especially assisting the coordinators at our Prayer and Planning and at our monthly meetings doing anything to help. He knew many people and his experience was valued. Eric especially joined in our Scripture mimes. Only recently on May 20th, Eric led the meeting. It was such a happy day but our June meeting will be filled with sadness. Eric was pleased to learn in May that our community is now ready to join in full membership of Faith and Light international. We were looking forward to him continuing on the Core Group and engaging with other individuals and church communities to involve them in Friends of Faith and Light Geelong. We will all miss him and his sincere, open sharing of his Christian faith in an ecumenical spirit and his kindnesses, especially to people with disabilities. Rest in peace Eric. We will really miss you and will light a candle to remember you whenever Friends of Faith and Light Geelong meets.

Condolences to family. I found out through a random Christian guy who knew Erik in the carpark at Aldi. God definitely moves in mysterious ways, because I other wise wouldn't have known. Erik would appreciate this. Sometimes we loose people who leave a impact on our lives.... thanks Erik for your kindness humour and music. Hopefully one day you mum and I can play some country in heaven. No doubt of your peace. Very missed.
