Hilary White

28/08/1947 - 27/10/2022

WHITE, Hilary
Passed away peacefully on 27 October 2022.
Cherished mother of Conrad, Elliott, Kieran and Justin.
Sister of Jill Gollan, Gavin McKenzie and Rosie Greig.
She will always be remembered for her wit, humour and smile.

She was a dedicated mother with a passion for community. Mum would always volunteer at school and social events, and ensure that things ran to plan. Later in life, she re-joined the workforce and proudly wore the State Transit Uniform, driving buses around Sydney. Receiving many commendations from her passengers for excellent customer service.

Hilary retired to Geelong to be closer to her Sisters Jill and Rosie and Brother Gavin. There she met Derrick and began her travelling adventures. Like most retiree’s she got the travel bug and was blessed to be able to travel to Norway multiple times to be with her son’s as well as travel to Malaysia, Cambodia, South Africa and around Europe.

Her last few years were met with health issues, but as always, she took it in her stride and kept smiling. To her last day with us, mums laugh could still be heard. She will forever be remembered for her humour, smile and quick wit. We will miss you, but never forget you.

It was a great privilege to have Hilary as a dear friend. She always had a smile for everyone she knew. I am very saddened by her passing, and she will be missed by all who knew her. The world is a sadder place without her. A huge light has gone out. Love, John and Jillian

Hilary, you were an amazing friend, a very hard worker for the boys schools, and Scouts. An inspiration and an amazing friend. What fun we had during those school and scouting years. Your boys adored you and you taught them to be responsible and resourceful. RIP.xxx

Deepest sympathy on the loss of a beautiful soul, dear Aunty Hils. Perhaps the stars in the night sky are openings where our loved ones shine brightly to let us know they are with us, they feel our love and have found a new happy place. May her star light find, hold and hug you each night Conrad, Elliott, Justin & Kieran. I know it will find you too Mumma, Uncle Gavin, Rosie and Derrick. A strong bright smiling light indeed. Sparkling with love above forever more. Only love, Lise & Matt xxx

So many great memories of good times with my lovely neighbour Hilary during her time "just around the corner" in Belmont. And of course, the Friday night "Happy Hours" with her and Derrick, where we tried to sort out the problems of the world and have a few laughs. Keep strong, and my thoughts are with you all at this sad time

I have so many happy memories of those early years when our boys were young - the progressive dinners and all the laughter - a wonderful strong supportive friend - will be missed by all those whose lives she touched.

To all the family of Hilary my thoughts are with you. When Hilary arrived at the Highton Bowls Club I was her coach. She was a lot of fun and she enjoyed her bowls. When Rymans opened she was always on for a chat whenever we met. Such a lovely smile and a little bit of mischief . She will be missed by us all. Wendy Ballentine.

Dear courageous "little" sister, we will miss you - the fun times, travelling together and endless story telling. Family gatherings will not be the same without you. Now you can be with Mum and Dad in Margaret River. Rest peacefully, Hilary. Love from Jill, Ross and the Gollan Gang.
