Recalling my past friendship with Lynda provides opportunity for joyful reminiscence. What remains most constant in my memory was her fidelity to that friendship and to her great faith, which never wavered. When dearest friends depart, bear patiently; the Lord is on your side.

You were so full of love and warmth. You have run your race and fought a good fight. Your gentleness to all will be your heritage! See you in the other side of eternity 💖

TO FAMILY AND FRIENDS OF LYNDA BOYD RAU, ON BEHALF OF MYSELF, PLEASE ACCEPT MY SINCERE CONDOLENCES WITH THE LOSS OF LYNDA. ESPECIALLY TO HER CHILDREN, MICHAEL, LEANNE & KATHRYN. WE LOST TOUCH OVER THE YEARS, WHICH I REALLY REGRET, BUT PEOPLE MOVE ON TO NEW PLACES, CREATE NEW FRIENDS AND AS HER CHILDREN GREW OLDER, THE GRANDKIDS CAME ALONG. I REMEMBER ONE VERY SPECIAL TIME, WHEN WE WERE NEWLY WEDS, THAT LYNDA, HER LATE HUSBAND PETER, MYSELF AND MY LATE WIFE RUTH, WENT TO A BELGRAVE HEIGHTS CONVENTION BACK IN THE MID 1970’S AND WE STAYED IN A SMALL CAMPERVAN THAT PETER HAD. A BIT OF A QUEEZE, BUT WE HAD LOTS OF FUN. MY WIFE, RUTH WHO PASSED AWAY ONLY LAST DECEMBER, AND I, HAVE A FAIR IDEA ON HOW YOU WOULD ALL FEEL AFTER SUCH A BIG LOSS AS I KNOW THAT MY FAMILY MISSES THEIR MUM BIG TIME TOO. I CAN JUST IMAGINE LYNDA BEING IN HEAVEN WITH HER LORD AND SAVIOR, HAVING A WOW OF A TIME AND MEETING UP WITH THE LOVE OF HER LIFE, PETER, ONCE AGAIN. MY APOLOGIES FOR NOT BEING ABLE TO BE THERE FOR THIS OCCASION. GOD BLESS GARY KUIPER

Deepest sympathy to Michael, Leanne and Kathryn. I am truly sorry as you say goodbye to your beautiful mum Lynda. Although I hadn't seen her for many years after I left Cloverdale, my first church, I contined to keep in touch again through FB. Lynda was a beautiful friend and mum figure to so many. One particular day at church, i will never forget. Pastor Paul had just stopped preaching and the Sunday school kids were finishing up. There was a sudden blood curdling scream, the whole congregation turned around! I knew it was my little daughter Jeamma who was 2yrs old at the time. My son Tarryn who was 5yrs,was holding the door open for her and not realized her pinky was in the door jam when he tried to close the door! Peter and Lynda came to our rescue that day. Before I knew what was happening, your dad was driving my husband and Jeamma to the hospital and Lynda was takung care of me and Tarryn, before taking us there too. A horrible day but your mum and dad were there as they always were for our family. What a beautiful family and legacy to leave behind. I was planning to come to the celebration service, but I have Covid at the moment. So I will watch online. Love, prayers and strength for you all and your families. Just know how much Lynda was loved and will be missed by so many. Susie 💖🙏😪

On behalf of St John's Lutheran School & Kindergarten, we remember Lynda with fond memories of the years that she served in the Kindergarten. Her happy, dedicated nature was uplifting to the children in her care, the parents and staff members. The last years of her life were not easy, with the loss of her beloved Peter and experiencing major health problems. However, she shouldered on, always with a smile on her face. What a great witness to her strong faith! May she rest in peace as she is now reunited with Peter in the loving arms of her Lord and Saviour, Jesus.

To Michal, Leanne, Kathryn and your families. We have known your mum (and dad) for many years and it has been some time since we have been able to see her. We communicated occasionally by email and they were special. Rita and Lynda had a great relationship and always enjoyed each other’s company. We regret not being able to attend the service today - I did watch the live stream and it was a beautiful service. Rita is non responsive at the moment but during How great thou art she shed a tear as did I. Lynda was a great encourager and we want to encourage you with this: You have the strength of Jesus within you - call upon that strength and he will sustain you. I have found this to be so true over the last few weeks. God bless you all. Tony and Rita.
