It is with great sadness that Max has left us. His parents were very good friends to my new -Australian parents, George and Lily Mellens, 555 Wensleydale Station RD, in the 1950/60s, and I know that George and Lily, (now deceased), would join me in our shock at the sadness of this farewell. May he find peace and rest. Kristine Mellens

Bryce and families, Please accept our deepest sympathy on the passing of our dear friend Max. He was a true mate to Ken and a treasured friend to our family. Godfather to Kym. Ken absolutely loved going out to Max at the farm and did so on many occasions. They spent a lot of time feeding cattle, in the woodshed at shearing time, hay harvesting, mending fences, cutting wood and just doing any farm jobs needed at the time. In the latter years things wound down a bit and watching the footy and sleeping on their chairs became more commonplace with some of Ken's cooking thrown in for good luck. We loved going to the farm and we thank Max for allowing us to spend time with him out there over so many years. That will always hold special memories in our hearts. He will be sadly missed. XX Julie, Kym, Paul Holloway and family.
