Shocked and saddened to hear of Pete’s premature demise. One of nature’s gentlemen and loyal friend. Truly a good man and we are all diminished by his passing. He’ll be missed by many. Our warmest condolences to his family.

I am very proud of Uncle Peter. Those who know him will agree that he was unfailingly kind, calm, funny, bright and loyal. Kym and I are very grateful for our friendship with Uncle Peter and Auntie Beth these last few years. Our lunches frequently extended into the late evening and our goodbyes were rarely shorter than two hours. I will miss Peter a great deal but I am glad that he never lived a day without the people he loved around him.

Such a wonderful man, and such an incredible loss. So many fond memories around the AAFC. Too many laughs to count, and so much wisdom within. I shouldn't be amazing at how much I miss him, though mainly through Facebook in recent times, but I seriously do. His quiet way just added to the volume of his presence. I deeply miss you Pete. Rest in paradise as you watch over your wonderful and growing family. All our love Kevin and Rebecca Hay & family

I grew up with the Flanagan family. My parents were close friends with Peter’s parents. They were Uncle Bill and Auntie Joyce to us all when we were growing up. I don’t remember a time when they were not in our lives. I spent many years going out to their farm “Brooklyn” at Gilligulgul and sitting at night playing bingo with Peter in the kitchen on the farm. He was my partner for the Deb ball when I was 15. He was 17 . He was my closest friend for many years. It is sad how we all drifted apart and lost personal contact. Mind you there was and still is the old family and friend grapevine which kept us all in contact with the general going’s on in Families. Then Facebook came into our lives. It was through Facebook that Peter and I got back in contact. I loved to wake up each morning and read the funny stories and sayings he put up each day. The love that showed through the comments he made and photos of his family. Every time he came to Queensland we promised to catch up, but sadly it just did not happen. We always thought, next time we will. Where has the next time gone. Like so many others. Peter I will miss you so very much. My love and prayers go out to Beth, the boys and their families. I

Peter and his wife Beth welcomed me into their home and hearts just a few short years ago. Our catch ups were filled with a lot of laughter and positivity, always extending into the late evening hours. I haven’t known Peter for as long as some but he was someone I look up to and felt priveledged to call my friend. His pride for his wife and all of his sons and grandchildren, the way he was always first to put his hat in to help in any way, his cheeky banter and passion for enjoying the tiny moments in life. He has certainly impacted a lot of lives and will be remembered with a smile.

Far too young for Peter to be taken from his Wife,Sons, and little Grandchildren, for he was a devoted Family man and a good friend to many. For those lucky enough to have met and shared time with you Peter you will be sorely missed.

Berth and family, I was saddened to hear of the sudden passing of Peter. Peter and I were childhood mates in Miles and he was about 5 months older than me. We were also at Downlands together. We spent a lot of time together in our early years and as often happens in life our careers took us in different directions. Unfortunately we have not kept in contact and his sudden passing is a stark reminder to us all to enjoy the moment as we never know how many more moments we are here for. He will be missed by those that loved him and who were near to him. RIP Pete.
