Dear Carol and family, I was saddened to hear that Stan has passed away and yet, so pleased that I was able to speak to him at the Rotary World President's dinner in Ballarat last year together with other RC Warracknabeal members past and present. When I joined Rotary way back in 1979 Stan was a mentor and before long a friend. I remember fondly our time in Rotary together and our shared experiences. Who can forget the gorgeous Bertine and that Rotary 4WD trip to Mt Cole and the overnight camp at your Beaufort farm amongst many. Vaun and I send our love to you all at this difficult time. Martin xx

So lucky to have been able to enjoy the friendship of Stan for some 70 years. Starting with the fun filled carefree days at the Ballarat School of Mines which was followed by many memorable times over the years. A journey to Wellington on the Wangenella followed by a tour around the South Island was important.. When we reached Christchurch Stan decided to stay for a little while,-then much longer. Stan’s best decision ever. Carol and Stan have been a fantastic team and have enjoyed assisting in the development of their children and grandchildren. Our love and sympathy to Carol and all the family. Barrie and Judy Smith

Heartfelt Condolences to Carol, Michelle, Nigel, Averill and families. From 1975 I knew Stan through photography, the Warracknabeal High School, on the farm and in Rotary. Always energetic, passionate about people, principles and causes; Stan led by example, rolled up his sleeves and just got involved. A visionary, he still made time to assist and advise and his mentorship to me as a young Rotarian was unstinting. My abiding memory is of Stan overseeing the Shearing demonstration at the April 2019 Warracknabeal Rotary 'Paddock to Plate', where his love of the Sheep Industry, people and Rotary co-joined. He was in his element! Ian Fletcher also sends his condolences. John (and Julia) Tonkin
